blog 001: intro to alli

I figured it would be weird to start posting blog posts without officially introducing myself? This is a surface level deep dive introduction course to... me. I'm glad you're here.

Hi. I’m Alli. Growing up my brother called me all kinds of nicknames, so you can pretty much call me anything and I’ll respond.

I start my day with an iced matcha latte and usually finish the day with a glass of red wine (preferably Snoop Dogg's Cali Red or Conundrum incase you want to send a bottle my way). There’s usually a lot of water and a Diet Coke thrown in there at some point throughout the day. I’m definitely a beverage girl, and I don’t leave the house without something to drink.

I’m a Peoria native. Grew up here, went to school here, started my professional life here - really all my milestones have been… here. I’m growing to appreciate and love this city, but wouldn’t mind wandering.

I studied abroad in London during college and now travel for work 100% of the time. I love experiencing new places, traditions, people, etc. I’m truly a lover of all landscapes - beach, mountains, desert, city, Midwest plains. I’m obsessed with the moon. My mood is instantly better the second I feel the sun on my skin.

In true Scorpio fashion, I’m fiercely loyal to the things I love. I’m also a brand loyalist - once I find a brand and love the product/people/mission, I will stand by that brand forever. I also appreciate the art and consciousness of thrifting and second hand pieces.

I’m an absolute lover of sports and could talk about it all day.

I have no idea what I want to do when I grow up.

I support women rights and reproductive rights, black lives, equality, the LGBTQ+ community and so much more. I appreciate people who take a stance.

I’m always reminding myself we’re living on a floating rock, so who cares what anyone thinks. I’m type A and love to have a plan and know what the future holds, but I also crave spontaneity.

My family means more to me than anything. My mom is an angel. Being an aunt is one of the coolest things I get to call myself. I would do anything for our family pets. I love all animals and hate people who hunt for fun. The circle of life makes me sad.

Having multiple streams of income is a blessing and puts me into girl boss mode. I’m a firm believer that I don’t have the same 24 hours in the day as Beyoncé.

I like my circle small. I don’t trust easily. I heard a quote and never related to something more: I hate people, but I love everyone. I think life is hard and everyone should be treated with love and compassion regardless of status. I don’t feel the need to fit in or make myself big so others feel small. I hate friends who sh*t talk each other.

I cuss. A lot.

I’m satisfied spending a night out until 4am drinking alcohol with my friends. I’m equally satisfied with a home cooked dinner, candle burning, and a peaceful night alone in my apartment.

I love being creative. I sew. I love digital creativity - photos and videos. I’m good with a hammer or drill. I spend a lot of time scrolling on Pinterest and recreating DIYs.

I enjoy being horizontal - in my bed, on the couch, even the floor.

If you’ve made it this far, thank you. I hope you enjoyed the first blog post! More to come from me very soon.

xx,

AK
